تَبَّتْ يَدَآ أَبِى لَهَبٍۢ وَتَبَّ ﴿١﴾

Dem Verderben geweiht seien die Hände des Abu Lahab, und dem Verderben geweiht sei er!

مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ ﴿٢﴾

Nicht nützt ihm sein Vermögen und das, was er erworben hat.

سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًۭا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍۢ ﴿٣﴾

Er wird in einem lodernden Feuer brennen.

وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ حَمَّالَةَ ٱلْحَطَبِ ﴿٤﴾

Und auch seine Frau, sie, die Holzträgerin.

فِى جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌۭ مِّن مَّسَدٍۭ ﴿٥﴾

An ihrem Hals hängt ein Strick aus Palmenfasern.
