Surah At-Tin ( The Fig ) - Aya count 8

بِّسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلتِّينِ وَٱلزَّيْتُونِ ﴿١﴾

Ik zweer bij de vijgen den olijf,

وَطُورِ سِينِينَ ﴿٢﴾

En bij den berg Sinaï,

وَهَٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ ٱلْأَمِينِ ﴿٣﴾

En bij dit grondgebied der zekerheid.

لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ فِىٓ أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍۢ ﴿٤﴾

Waarlijk, wij hebben den mensch in den schoonsten vorm geschapen;

ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَٰهُ أَسْفَلَ سَٰفِلِينَ ﴿٥﴾

Daarna hebben wij hem tot den laagste der laagsten gemaakt.

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍۢ ﴿٦﴾

Behalve degenen die gelooven en het goede doen; want deze zullen eene eindelooze belooning ontvangen.

فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعْدُ بِٱلدِّينِ ﴿٧﴾

Wat zal u dus hierna den dag des oordeels doen loochenen?

أَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَحْكَمِ ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ ﴿٨﴾

Is God niet de wijste rechter.
