وَٱلْعَصْرِ ﴿١﴾

VID DEN flyende tiden!

إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لَفِى خُسْرٍ ﴿٢﴾

Människan förbereder helt visst sin egen undergång,

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوْاْ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْاْ بِٱلصَّبْرِ ﴿٣﴾

utom de som tror och lever ett rättskaffens liv och råder varandra [att hålla fast vid] sanningen och råder varandra [att bära motgång med] tålamod.
